Hello all,

I am not a woodworker (although I would love to learn), but I have a beautiful Sheridan Macarthur spinning wheel that is missing the foot pedal piece.
I am looking for any advice on where to get a new one or to get one made.
I did a search here and got some really old threads, so I thought I should start afresh rather than bump them

Any advice would be most welcome.
Off to have a browse of the forums now.

Hi Spinderella welcome

I got Munruben's e-mail re this thread thought I'd take a look.

Have not heard of your wheel before but it looks like an Ashford Traditional knock off/copy

Thank you for your replies.
The Sheridan wheels were made in Melbourne until the mid 80's I believe.

Yes it is like the Ashford one.
Here is what it looks like;

Good you got some photo's up :2tsup:

As you can see from the photo I put up showing the treadle set up its not hard to make. Timber possibly used is Coachwood.

I'll pm Issatree a fellow off the forum to have a look at this thread he may help you if you don't want to make it yourself.
