It was a hot Saturday evening in the summer of 1961, and Allan had a date with Peggy Sue.
<o></o>
He arrived at her house and rang the bell.<o></o>
<o></o>
'Oh, come on in!' Peggy Sue's mother said as she
welcomed Allan in.<o></o>
<o></o>
'Have a seat in the living room.<o></o>
Would you like something to drink?<o></o>
Lemonade? Iced tea?'<o></o>
<o></o>
'Iced tea, please,' Allan said.<o></o>
Mom brought the iced tea.<o></o>
<o></o>
'So, what are you and Peggy planning to do tonight?'<o></o>
she asked.<o></o>
<o></o>
'Oh, probably catch a movie,<o></o>
and then maybe grab a bite to eat at<o></o>
the malt shop, maybe take a walk on the beach..'<o></o>
<o></o>
'Peggy likes to screw, you know,' Mom informed him.<o></o>
<o></o>
'Really?' Allan replied, his eyebrows rising.<o></o>
<o></o>
'Oh yes,' the mother continued,<o></o>
'When she goes out with her friends,<o></o>
that's all they do! Screw, again and again !!'<o></o>
<o></o>
'Is that so?' asked Allan incredulous.<o></o>
'Yes,' said the mother.<o></o>
'As a matter of fact, she'd screw all night if we let her!'<o></o>
<o></o>
'Well, thanks for the tip!' Allan said as he began<o></o>
thinking about alternate plans for the evening.<o></o>
<o></o>
A moment later, Peggy Sue came down the stairs<o></o>
looking pretty as a picture, wearing a pink blouse and<o></o>
a hooped skirt, and with her hairtied back<o></o>
in a bouncy ponytail.<o></o>
She greeted Allan.<o></o>
<o></o>
'Have fun, kids!' the mother said as they left.<o></o>
<o></o>
Two hours later, a completely dishevelled Peggy Sue<o></o>
burst into the house and slammed the<o></o>
front door behind her.<o></o>
<o></o>
'The Twist, Mum!' she angrily yelled to<o></o>
her mother in the kitchen. 'The bloody dance is called the Twist !!!'<o></o>
<o></o>
