G'day China,
A little screen dump of what you are seeing would help mate.

And here I thought it was just me. [phew]
The text for the thread titles (eg. in the new posts page) used to be bold black for unread, black for read and blue for read but has new posts. I think.
Now it's all ass-about.

I was about to start a thread on this and found it already here. I use the wwf style and noticed the font colour for the thread names has changed to a light coloured blue. It is lousy on my laptop as the contrast is not strong enough. My vote would go to putting it back where it was (please).

What Skew said. Thought I was having a seniors moment or had made the Irish coffee a bit too strong.
Also agree with Groggy too, the contrast is diminished compared to the previous font styles, for my eyes and computer screen anyway.
Any light to be shed on the contrast oh dear and revered administrators?
Cheers

I can't shed any light on why, or if, the font colour was changed on that particular skin.
What I can say is that if contrast is a problem there are better skins available that, just IMHO, are much easier to read and more pleasing to the eye overall.
I use use Ubeauts' Legacy skin and find it so much easier to read.
If you look at some of the other forums around that use the same software, they seem to use a similar colour skin to the Ubeauts' legacy.
Give it a try, you have nothing to lose except a couple of mouse clicks:rolleyes:

I was using the wwf style as it was the better choice. I did try the "extra few mouse clicks" and although the text is black the background is white, which is not as good as the wwf style (IMHO).
Putting a post here was intended to give whoever made the change some feedback. Sometimes changes happen inadvertantly and if we just change styles without feedback we would all be using the last usable style, until it too was changed and we finally complained. Then we would be asked why we didn't say something  :U

Greg, variety is the spice of life and all that. I'm sure you know that there other skins "only a few mouse clicks away":U.
However, some of the other people that posted here may not be aware of that and they are what my post was aimed at.
The background on the Ubeaut Legacy skin I am using is a pale blue, not white. But most word processors, like MS Word, use a white background, for the reason alluded to above, contrast.
I was in no way implying that people shouldn't complain about being taken out of their "comfort zone", merely pointing out that there are other "comfort zones" waiting to be tried out (and discarded as one sees fit.:2tsup:

I just though it was me, having only just updated Vista, and thought that was teh source of the change. I like the wwf skin as the colours are pleasing to me, tried the others and it looks too stark and bright

Fonts are different colour and now so all the other colours. There is no fine black line around each box.

I take it from the above replies that now body has any idea and yes I have tried the other skins but prefered the (old) wwf.

I too see this new skin and personally I hate it. Is there a skin of how it was just before this last round of changes?
Usability wise, most people expect that lighter coloured links are ones that they have visited (i.e. they blend more into the background as it is something they have seen already). The way the links are coloured now is all backwards IMHO.

The complaints in this thread are about several different skins.
If you're using the default skin, the change is temporary, its really not worth the focus its getting here :?

Most of the replies have nothing to do with your initial complaint.

Yeh I did notice that so I assumed there was a lot of guessing going on,
If it is only temporary I can live with it

This evening's change was just the background colour on the default skin. I've got no idea about the font/link colour changes sorry.

Strewth. What's the world coming to......
Please try to bare in mind that these forums are manned entirely by unpaid, overworked, volunteers and most of us are pretty much running flat our from the time we log on till the time we leave to go to bed in the wee small hours. Sometimes stuff happens and there isn't any time to explain or maybe no real need.
The temporary change of backgtround on wwf skin has made the change of font colours stand out. No one seemed to notice until the background was changed. The font colours changed around a week ago to make links stand out a little more as a lot of newbies were having trouble finding embedded links because they were the same colour as the standard type.
The world isn't coming to an end, I promise you. Things will retuen to the way they were as soon as we've sorted out a few things. So keep your hair on.

For anyone who just can't live with the temporary background colour etc you can go to the bottom of any screen and change the skin to Child of wwf This will give you the same skin as before.
