Hello All,
I've been browsing these forums for a while now, gleening a great deal of extremely useful information.
So I thought I'd take the plunge and put fingers to keyboard.
My interests are woodturning (I have the dubious honour of being chairman of Southern Turners Inc. here in S.A.) and scrollsawing. whilst my day job is in IT (please don't hold that against me), I enjoy making the chips fly and find it very relaxing.
Kindest regards,
Nifty52

Now that is funny.
I guess you have to be an IT person to pick the joke.

Sorry Christos,
I meant to say "Wood" chips, but now that you bring it to my attention, it does sound like an IT "joke". (Pun purely unintentional).
To be honest, I,ve been involved in the various forms of IT, from a hardware maintenance perspective, for more than 30 years, even before PC's were thought of.
Now I would just like to get the correct "six numbers" and retire to the hills, setting up a woodworking workshop for anybody interested, and watch the wood chips fly.
Kindest Regards,
Nifty52.

It is a pity you did not join two years ago and you could

Welcome Nifty. When I was a lad, IT was all about abacuses, or abacii, or something. Seriously, I used to use an Apple II way back in about 1976.

Hello Tankstand,
You would be welcome to Southern Turners at any time.
We meet at Aberfoyle Park High School Technical Studies area on the first Saturday of each month (except this October, when it will be the second Saturday, due to long weekend.) And we don't just concentrate on Turning, but also scrolling, any Woodcraft and some of the ladies have needlework, wool spinning, etc.
Best regards,
Nifty52
