G'day!

I've been a long time follower of WWF and have finally joined as I will be tooling up shorlty and the wealth of knowledge on this site is invaluable!

I'm an Industrial designer with a passion for hardwood furniture. Precision and quality of finish is what its all about for me.

I've spent years in and around workshops, and while i haven't been formally trained in any joinery/fine woodworking, the experience I've gained thus far I hope will be a good starting point.

The ultimate dream is to go into low production run/custom built designer furniture production, and set up a shop along the lines Mark Tuckey in Melbourne:
http://www.marktuckey.com.au/

I will shortly be tooling up and im looking down the lines of a hammer/felder combi machine as the heart of my shop. They seem to pop up every now and then within my price range so heres hoping...

Anyway I've always enjoyed being a spectator on this forum and now finally I'm an active member! Looking forward to the future.

Cheers,

BOS

Thanks for the warm welcome people!

Claw Hama - I managed to take a sneek peak at your weblink before it mysteriously disapeared! Very nice material! Clean and simple, looks like you keep your tools sharp. Really love the myrtle seating bench. I am hoping to be driving through your neck of the woods late in the year and would really like to pop in an have a gander at you set up if you wouldn't mind...

Thanks again for the welcome, looking forward to picking everyones brains!

Whatever you do BOS, don't pick my brain. Choose any other brain but mine because it is well past its use by date. Look forward to seeing your stuff when you get set up.

Welcome BOS, there's a good saying "come in spinner" and thats what this is all about.

It's not only about welcoming you here but how we as members together can help you to realise your dreams even if only in some small way.

A lot of good stuff spun here as you've already attested to, mostly it's helpful to even those that have years of experience in WW.

Enjoy your time here for there is much to partake in.

Cheers:)

Hi Bos, feel free to call in anytime, just give me a call the day before if you can and I will make sure I;m around. Don't expect anything very exciting, I only work out of the equivilent of a double car garage that is very cluttered with timber and equipment. Oh what disappeared the link or the site?
I will check it out.

Hi again CH, my mistake on the missing link - its still there, think there was something strange happening with my browser... I might just take you up on that offer when I'm heading through later in the year, always fun to have a poke around other peoples shop and see how they do things, all the best :U
