ok am getting a 8 x 8 mt granny flat built on my house and was going to get a builder to do so but they are like hens teeth here and just cant find one that can start now all say in a couple of months maybe and i will have a kidney as well as payment

so i ask how hard is the owner builder test went on line and did a example of it but you had to then pay to get the results ( sneakee)
so couldnt tell how badly i had done have the plans drawn up but the local taft didnt seem that interested as the instructors come from the next large city , would have no problems organising people to do the work ie post hole diggers ( for stumps ) handy man to help build frames and so on and would save a lot as have a lot of building material aleady put away but as i\ts been years since i really used the brain to do any study am just a bit put off by the thought of it all any comments

My sister got the owner builder license and her husband did the work. She needed the license because she was the land owner. I've never sat for it but I believe it is basic rules and regulations.

Depending on how "rural" you are, you could just go ahead and do it..

The owner builder course deals with the management side of building, not actual construction. I'll know in a few weeks how hard it is.

I like .RC.s idea:wink:
