... me work boots. The tread still has about 2,000,000 foot steps in em but the side walls have several blow outs. I brought them in February 2006 when I demolished my existing old house and built a new one. I wore them for 9 months solid and then every weekend since. They have endured everything a demolition/construction site was thrown at them.
The side walls now collect dirt and flig it out when I walk inside thus I get yelled at... regularly. I still enjoy wearing them.

No doubt they are the most comfortable foot coverings you own. A few months back I was courageous and disposed of three pairs of pre-loved work boots, all of which, looked similar to your's.

If they are anything like mine. Do they come to you if you call them?? I have two pairs one for the garden and the "good" pair for going out in, although my wife doesn't seem to understand.

Spose I could send em to China or India where they could do em up and flog em back to us.

I think they deserve to sit quietly on the veranda. And maybe get called on occasionally to take the rubbish out just for old times sake. :D

Jeez I know they've been good... but I didn't think they were that clever:D

They are long gone for a building site, once any of the steel cap starts showing they are a electrical hazard & not allowed onsite.

I don't think the tread looks road legal either, few bald spots there. Yesterday i was looking for an old pair of boots to do some concreteing and one of the pairs i found look to be in better shape than my current ones. Does that mean it's time for work to buy me a new pair?

Have them gold plated and put on display like they do with baby's first shoes

Keep 'em and keep wearin' 'em. There's nothing more comfortable than an old pair of sneakers or an old jumper :2tsup:.

For god's sakes throw them.... get some new ones... be like a holiday or a new woman....
..... never know what excitement the new adventure could lead to.....
If your not trudging dirt through the house...you'll have more pleasent words spoken to you....
The new spring in your step will lead to better things to come....
While you've got your wallet out, wipe the dust off it... clear the moths out & spend some money on new tools.....
( Oh better buy the Misses a bunch of flowers... thank her for putting out the bin all these years... & then tell her you spent her allowance on new tools....LOL ..... THEN DUCK......)
Cheers....KEKEMO:2tsup::U:

Are you saying that I should get rid of my wife just because she has gained a few kilos, wrinkles and grey hair since we married :D.

Pension 'em off? :oo: No, no, NO! Perish the thought!
By the time you get their replacements feeling nice 'n comfy, you'll have someone nagging at you to replace them.
My favourite work boots were issued to me in... '88? Maybe '89?
Paper thin soles, (perfect for working on rooves! :2tsup:) and the toes have worn out from so much kneeling that I've had to wrap 'em in duct tape to stop the steel caps from flying across the room every time I kick something.
I've a couple of far newer pairs that I wear when doing quotes - just for the sake of appearances - but my mouldy oldies are the go when I get down 'n dirty. (You should see my work shirts & jeans... I have a complete ensemble. :B)

....Almost suicidal … surely you jest… I merely pointed out a clear comparison… you’re dicing with death my risky friend… however, I pray you don’t throw too much caution to the wind… your beloved may throw both you & you’re boots out……LOL….
Surely both deserve it….LOL…
Sorry can’t help if I seem to be laughing too much ….
Just wondering how much effort will be needed when she puts both you & boots in wheelie-bin….
Bless you for making me laugh.....

Andy, after reading this I went looking for a picture of you wearing footwear (of any sort), this is the best I could come up with :D.
