I am restoring an old red cedar trunk and the liod has quite a few holes in it. I have used fibre glass resin on hardwoods before with good success but thought that perhaps it is to hard for cedar and sanding it down would be a problem in that the timber would be left lower than the resin. Would I be better of using a wood party that is not as hard. Any advice greatfully recieved.

Think Id be using the woodfiller in the round plastic container, Its cheap you can mix several colours to get it colour matched and it will sand
