Pulling ball bearing out of crankshaft
Its so long since I worked on cars I've forgotten a lot of little things.
I need to pull a ball bearing out of the end of a crankshaft to bolt it up to an auto.
I don't have a slide hammer, any suggestions on removing the bearing.

A dowel of the right diameter should work, but may I suggest you hold a rag around the spigot bearing as any grease that escapes will be travelling at a hell of a rate! Wear goggles too.

you can also use small pieces of wet newspaper instead of grease if the grease comes out to easily
