well he means that he's keeping the dream alive. Just to whom the dream belongs and whether or not it is a nightmare are questions for another time .

Why what did he say now ? :?
In his current Valvoline oil ads on radio, he blandly states "You know what I mean". Well I don't.
Why on earth would a respectable company like Valvoline (who participate in 'young peoples" motorsport) tarnish their image by enlisting the dubious talents of this out-of-touch dinosaur?

He is supposed to be able to sell anything.
I've never understood his popularity either. But then I've never understood the popularity of Ray Martin, Eddie McGuire or Darryl Summers. It doesn't say much for the Australian TV and radio audience.

Laws and Jones - two of the greatest plagerisers ever let loose on an unsuspecting public.
Self appoiinted arbiters about everything of which they know nothing.

I used to regularly listen to talkback radio mainly as a reminder that where I live and what I do is far better than the sewers (Cities and their mainly moronic self centred sad inhabitants). I still occasionally listen to the city traffic reports along with the clowns (presenters) driving their masters (greedy filthy cheating advertisers) propaganda just for a deep gutted giggle.
I realised that the rich profane language it caused me to shout could possibly be interpreted as a form of madness if Meg or one of my mates happened to drop in to my shed unexpectedly:-
We also have lyre birds and cockatoos and it proably wouldn't be appropriate for them to mimic my profanity.
I suggest Woodwould that you don't attempt to interpret any sensible meaning of the words uttered by these morons, their words are merely chosen to attract suckers who are forced to listen to the advertisements.
Recently a talkback radio incident occurred that resulted in the pin being pulled on the show. The main reason given was that the advertisers didn't like it because it might affect sales, very little talk about the morality of the stunt, mainly upset advertisers.:~ What a pitiful reaction.

Welcome to the bush Woodborer
In my case Bob, it's welcome back to the bush.
The folks are farmers, I was born in the bush and lived in the bush until I went to Uni in the city at the age of 18 back in the seventies (had hair then).
Met lots of rude unhelpful ignorant and impractical people who treated me as a hayseed. Many of them used commercial radio and cheap newspapers as their source of information of the world.
There are some good people in the cities and these are well represented by woodworkers.
I guess I only ever physically left the bush. I am sure many of you could make something quite unprintable out of that.:o

Keep the dream alive! When Lawsie was on the radio I always understood the dream to be something like this:
"You low-paid drones out there should keep buying the products that I push so that the sponsors will keep paying me, so that I can leave my multi-million dollar property to fly to work in my chopper and drive around to Sydney's best restaurants in my Rollerr".
It's a simple dream really.

Never listen to the talk back twits but am reminded of B.T Barnum who really knew people. Among other things he was reported to have said. "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the public. " He was right of course. It's one of the things pollies rely on.And yes I know BT's other famous quote.

 Just another pompous git in my book.and he was interviewing that 14 year old daughter of the murdered family. I don't care how well she's coping, she should not be being interviewed on telly.:((

Exacerly :wss: But nothing is more important than the all mighty TV ratings, for that all moral, decency and sensibilities go out the door, more so on 9 than any other channel. 60 Minutes once was a great programme, now it's like what I wrote above.
At least we still have 4 Corners.

Any of you know of Rush H. Limbaugh II /If not he is the pompous twit from whom Laws ( I believe ) stole the introduction to his show. Laws was also fond of quoting Limbaugh and Moore ( Bowling for Columbine ) without any acknowledgement whatsoever. He seems to think that we mere mortals are unable to read or remember anything.
