Welcome Mark - tell us a bit about your interests (we're a sticky-beak mob). Are YOU building your house, or HAVING it built?

G'day Brownowl and welcome to the madness that is woodwork.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

With a name like that you sound like a scout leader.

Yeah mate doin' it all myself but I'd sound like a smartarse if I rattled on about all that, I know one thing, I HATE the Bega Valley Shire Council, shouldn't go into that either, maybe I'm getting older and used to growing up in a fairer country in a different generation.
The stage I'm up to is suspending duragal bearers with posts attached ready for concrete in pier holes for 11700 x 8000 house. Also setting up a seperate wash house (4x3 m) and digging trenches to power the shed which is a 7x6 gable with 4m skillion on a rocky sloped acre, so lots $$ spent om earthmoving but worth it, have built drystone retaining walls, mostly second hand materials used, coming up nice.
Thanks for asking
Brownie

Very good to hear that you can do it your self. I think councils weather down south or up north they seem to be the same. Not many people seem to like them. I think that could be another thread in itself. :U
